The Woodfall Temple is the first dungeon encountered by Link in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. The backstory of the Woodfall Temple is not explored in detail but it is tied to the Deku civilization in some way. Like the other temples in Majora's Mask, it was cursed by Skull Kid who unleashed an evil spirit on it. The Woodfall temple has a forest theme with some poisonous water added to the mix. The item of the dungeon is the Hero's Bow. Link is rewarded with the Oath to Order for completing that temple.

This dungeon is smaller than the other Majora's Mask dungeons. It should be noted that like every other dungeons in that game, the time limit of three days still applies and it is recomended to start the dungeon near the beginning of the cycle. Furthermore, the dungeon's water is poisonous due to Odolwa's curse. The dungeon is designed around Deku Link's ability to avoid some of the poisonous water by jumping on it and his ability to glide over other obstacles by using Deku Flowers. Some enemies disguised as platforms only attack Hylian Link thus forcing him to use his Deku form even more when navigating the dungeon.
Progressing through the dungeon will eventually lead to a Dinolfos mini boss fight. Defeating him will grant Link access to the Hero's Bow. The Hero's Bow is crucial to solve puzzles in the later parts of the dungeons. The Hero's Bow can be used on far away switches or on fire to lit up remote torches. Some Stray Fairies can also only be reached with arrows. The Boss Key is guarded by a second mini-boss not far from the first, the Gekko riding on the back of a Snapper.
With both items in hand Link can open the door to Odolwa. Oddly enough Odolwa is one of the rare boss in the series that doesn't require the dungeon's item to defeat. Neither the Bow nor the Deku Mask are required to kill him but they can still be used. After defeating Odolwa, Link will recieve a Heart Container as well as Odolwa's Remains. Link will then break the curse, which remove the poison from the waters of the region. He then meets the first of the Four Giants who teach him the Oath to Order. After exiting the dungeon, he will appear in front of a chamber where the Deku Princess was held captive by Odolwa. Link can choose to bring her back to her father by carrying her around in an Empty Bottle to appease his anger and open up more side quests.
