Weavile is a species of Pokémon in the series of the same name. Introduced in the fourth generation of games, Weavile is an evolved form of Sneasel.

Appearances

Pokémon series

Weavile first appeared in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo DS and shortly after Pokémon Platinum. It is an evolved form of Sneasel, a Pokémon that will evolve when holding a Razor Claw at night (after leveling up). After its appearance in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Weavile appeared in several side games including the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, the Pokémon Ranger series and Pokémon Rumble for WiiWare, among other titles. Weavile have appeared in the Pokémon anime.

Super Smash Bros. series

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Weavile is a Poké Ball Pokémon. Weavile dashes back and forth across the stage using False Swipe, stunning opponents and doing 1% damage with every hit. It has a very strong vertical knock back when it hits without being connected to the ground. After a short while, it will move to another area. A trophy of Weavile is also available. The following is its trophy description:

"A Sharp Claw Pokemon. The crown on its head resembles a fully opened folding fan. Its sharp, hooked claws and outstanding speed are its most memorable features. It's one Pokemon that can be expected to perform well on the front lines of battle. There are many Trainers who teach it the TM False Swipe and travel with it to catch rare Pokemon."
