Vitas Varnas is a recurring character appearing in a number of games.

He prominently appears in Boyfriend Dungeon where he serves as shopkeeper for the store Heart of Verona, in Evertried as a recurring character, and in Mages of Mystralia.

Appearance[]

Vitas is usually depicted wearing a teal coloured trenchcoat featuring the symbols of an ankh and a crow. He often resembles his real-life counterpart and has dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Boyfriend Dungeon[]

Vitas can be found serving as the shopkeeper in the store Heart of Verona located in the dungeons Verona Mall and La Rosa. Access to his store is hidden by a vending machine in all locations and can be accessed when purchasing the "???" option for $5. He offers a number of clothing and cosmetic items to customize the player's character. Like the other characters, he can transform from a weapon (though not seen in the game, only in official artwork) which is a staff.

Evertried[]

Vitas is a recurring character in the game who serves as a spirit guide to the player character. He introduces himself as a thespian adventurer and imparts philosophical prediacments about the game's world and the hero's actions. As you progress through the game, he reveals more insight about the world and himself.

Mages of Mystralia[]

He resides in the village Greyleaf Hamlet as a Carpenter with his wife Rachel Marie. When first meeting him, Zia tells him about Rachel being attacked in the wood which he then goes out to help her. Later, he'll fix for Zia the bridge to the Rise after defeating the Wooden Wretch.

  • Blasphemous - The description for the item 'Sternum of Vitas, the Performer' reads "Cvstodia remembers with admiration the name of Vitas Varnas. He inspired the lives of his people through his altruistic actions as well as his inspirational words."[1]
  • MindSeize - The bio for Vitas Varnas found in the missing person's computer aboard the player's ship mentions that he "Continues to traverse the void of space whilst also hoping to soon catch up on Game Grumps."[2]
  • Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition - One of the offense players for the team the Insane Cults is named Vitas Varnas.[3]
  • Pinstripe - His name appears on one of the gravestones in the Edgewood Cemetery.
  • The Procession To Calvary - He appears as a painting within the art gallery.
  • Shovel Knight - His portrait can be found hanging in the Hall of Champions.[4]

Trivia[]

  • The character is based on the real-life actor, producer and writer Vitas Varnas who has also worked a number of Nintendo licensed games.
  • During the beta of Mages of Mystralia, the character was originally named Carpenter Vankar until it was renamed in reference to Vitas Varnas.[5]
