Virtua Fighter 2 is a fighting game originally released in arcades and later released to the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and Sega Saturn. The Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version was ported to the Wii's Virtual Console. Unlike the the arcade and the Sega Saturn version the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version was in 2-D.
Unlike the Arcade and Sega Saturn version which was well received and commercially successful the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version however was pained by critics and considered that version at terrible remake of the popular 3D fighting game.
