Viridi (JP) is the Goddess of Nature and leader of the Forces of Nature. Her primary goal to eradicate humanity initially puts her at odds with Palutena, though they set aside their differences and team-up to face the Aurum, the Chaos Kin and later Hades and his Underworld Army.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U

Reset Bomb Forest is a playable stage in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS depicts a battle between human nations from Kid Icarus: Uprising.

After a minute has elapsed, Viridi appears in the background, far away from the stage, yells "Good riddance, human scum! The world is better off without you!" and drops a Reset Bomb, triggering the stage's transformation into an overgrown ruin. Upon reverting back to its original form, she will yell "Go! Stubborn vermin!"

Palutena's Temple appears as a playable stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Viridi appears alongside Palutena in several of Pit's Smash Taunt to remark on other fighters. A DLC costume for Mii Swordfighters was based on Viridi. She is also featured as a trophy exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS version.

Trophy description

  • North America: The goddess of nature, she believes it is her duty to return heaven and earth to their pure states, and so she labels humans as contaminants of nature that should be eliminated. She butts heads with human-protecting Palutena but hates soul-stealing Hades even more.
  • EU: The Goddess of Nature - of the earth and all living things. Viridi strongly believes in natural balance, and as far as she's concerned, humans throw that balance off entirely. She hates mankind for that, and Palutena for protecting them, but at the same time, she's not exactly keen on the Underworld Army's soul harvesting, either.

  • Viridi herself doesn't appear to be based on anyone Greek figure. However, her title as the Goddess of Nature may be a reference to the ancient Greek goddess Physis, while her alternate title of "ruler of the earth and all living things" may be a reference to Gaia, goddess of the Earth.
  • Viridi's name is based on the Latin word "viridis," which is a root word for the color green. It also means "youthful," a possible reference to her young-looking appearance.
