It has one of two different secondary types: Dark or Water. Its secondary type is permanent and is determined by the Tower in which Kubfu is trained; the Tower of Darkness or Tower of Waters, respectively. Starting in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Urshifu evolves when exposed to the Scroll of Darkness or the Scroll of Waters.
In its Single Strike Style, it is Fighting/Dark-type.
In its Rapid Strike Style, it is Fighting/Water-type.
Urshifu has two Gigantamax forms, one for each Style. Either form needs Max Honey to be added to the Max Soup to obtain the Giganatamax Factor.

It is also the only Pokémon with more than one Gigantamax form, and consequently the only Pokémon with more than one G-Max Move.
Urshifu is tied with Ogerpon for the lowest non-increasable base stat total of all fully evolved Legendary Pokemon at only 550. Zygarde and Terapagos have alternate forms with lower base stat totals, but these can be increased by switching to their other forms.
