The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (commonly known as UK or United Kingdom) is a European state. Its capital city is London.[1] The UK consists of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. All are located on the British Isles, along with Ireland, which is a separate country.
The United Kingdom in Nintendo video games[]
- In the NES video game Soccer, Great Britain is a team. Their initials are GBR and their colours are blue and brown. This can be compared to real life, where England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales all have separate national soccer teams.
- The entire Professor Layton series takes place in the United Kingdom. The creators of the game chose the location because of classic British characters such as Sherlock Holmes.
