Tyranitar is one of Template:PKMNcount types of Pokémon species. They first appeared in the Game Boy Color video games Pokémon Gold and Silver which are part of the Generation II Pokémon games. Their name is a portmanteau of the words tyrant and tar. They are powerful Pokémon, and the final evolved form that started with Larvitar then Pupitar.
