Toy Time Galaxy is a galaxy found in the Engine Room in Super Mario Galaxy. As its name implies, it involves various oversized toys that Mario must navigate. Mario can access this with at least 40 Power Stars in his possession.
Starting Planet (Train Ring Planet) -- A planet with two stations and a train that travels between them on a ring-shaped track. The train travels clockwise in the first two missions and counter-clockwise in the third mission.
Train-shape Planet -- This planet is visited during the first mission. Pink walls can be found here, possessing their own gravity. A Gearmo can be found here, complaining about her friends being kidnapped.
Conveyor Belts Planet -- This planet is visited during the first mission. Mario has to navigate some conveyor belts to make his way to the Launch Star at the end. A Spring Mushroom is located here.
Dish Planet -- This planet is visited during the first mission. The Launch Star to Mecha-Bowser's planet can be found here, and Mario must reach it by breaking the bottle's lid with a Ground-Pound.
Mecha-Bowser's Planet -- This planet is where Mecha-Bowser is encountered. The planet has a conveyor belt.
Screw Planet -- This planet has a screw running through it. Mario comes here during the second mission. There is a Hungry Luma that can be fed to summon the Flipswitch Chain Planets.
Pixellated Mario Planet -- This is a flat planet that looks like the sprite Mario used in his appearance in Super Mario Bros. 1. Mario has to navigate the planet to find five Silver Stars to summon the Power Star. The yellow panels that represent Mario's skin and gloves rotate, the green panels that represent Mario's shirt, eyes, and moustache are really Shriking Tiles that vanish upon being stepped on, and the red tiles that represent Mario's dungaree, and a formation of star bits can be found in the "hat" area, forming an "M". The landing platform is a brown square that has a star on it by one of Mario's feet. In the Purple Comet mission, the planet has been flipped over, the lava has been replaced with poison goo, and the star bit formation is now an L shape.
Dessert Planets -- Mario visits this area during the third mission. The first planet is a circular platform that resembles a circular cake slice. Mario must make his way to the top by getting his hands on a Spring Mushroom and bouncing between two cake walls. This is then followed by a conveyor belt. Afterwards, Mario will drop onto a dish that has a slice of cake, and must use that to climb onto a rotating cake that has some holes in it and a Black Hole in the centre. Afterwards is a sling star that leads to some ice cream that must be used to reach the next area.
Frozen Area -- This area is several frozen blocks that form a pathway. There are two rotating popsicle sets here, the first having four popsicles and being placed at the end of the ice cream section, and the second appearing close to the end, which has a cannon that leads to a Launch Star. This area is exclusive to the third mission.
Birthday Cake planet -- This planet has many spoons here. Mario must make his way to the top of the cake using spoons as a makeshift staircase, then use his spin attack to put out the flames of each candle. Doing so spawns a Launch Star that sends him to the Undergrunt's planet. This area is exclusive to the third mission.
Undergrunt's Planet -- An Undergrunt Gunner has set up his base here. Mario lands here in the third mission, and a Spring Mushroom can be found here, which can help him with his duel versus the mole.
Flipswitch Chain Planets -- These planets are two intertwined squares that have flipswitch panels and Tox Boxes. Mario has to activate all the Flipswitch Panels while avoiding the Tox Boxes. He can also find a brown square block where the Power Star appears. This area does not appear initially; Mario has to feed 50 Star Bits to a Hungry Luma for the area to appear. The squares have their own gravity fields.

This is the only galaxy in the game to have a Prankster Comet repeat of a hidden area (Fast Foes of Toy Time is a Fast Foe version of The Flipswitch Chain) (Bowser's Back Speed Run is a Speedy Version of Bowser's Back.
The music in the background is remix of the Super Mario Bros. overworld theme. Interestingly enough, this song returned to Super Mario Galaxy 2 (though slightly different).
