The Uncut Story of Mewtwo's Origin is a ten-minute prologue added to the beginning of the kanzenban version of Pokémon the First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back. Internationally, it was released as a special feature on the Pokémon: Mewtwo Returns DVD, under the title The Uncut Story of Mewtwo's Origin. The first two minutes of the segment were also used for the home video release of Mewtwo Strikes Back in the United States.
It is adapted from parts of the radio drama The Birth of Mewtwo, which in Japan originally aired in the lead-up to the release of the movie.
This short increases the movie's length from 75 to 85 minutes. Adding to the prologue already present within the movie, the movie's prologue's length is increased from 10 to 20 minutes.
