"The Pendant That Starts It All" is the second episode of Pokémon Horizons: The Series, and the 1,236th episode of Pokémon the Series. It first aired in Japan on April 14, 2023 as a one-hour special alongside The Pendant That Starts It All: Part One in the United Kingdom on December 1, 2023, in Australia on February 27, 2024, in Canada on March 2, 2024, and in the United States on March 7, 2024.
Plot[]
Liko is encased in a green sphere and sees a strange Pokémon called Terapagos, which soon disappears. Friede, the man with the Charizard, takes Liko to safety aboard the airship called the Brave Olivine. Liko meets Friede's companions and begins to trust them. Meanwhile, Amethio and the Explorers continue their pursuit of Liko's pendant and arrive on the airship. After a battle between Friede and Amethio, Amethio's team decides to retreat, taking Sprigatito with them.

- This episode introduces a new series of eyecatches, with both the first and second halves featuring a different character and their Pokémon.
- On April 17, 2023, three days after the initial airing of this episode, the official English Pokémon profile on Twitter revealed the first little information about the mysterious Pokémon and a post about the episode and its reveal, noting that it would appear in The Indigo Disk DLC of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This marks the first time the anime has introduced a previously unknown Pokémon since Togepi's appearance in Who Gets to Keep Togepi?. On August 8, 2023, this Pokémon was revealed to be Terapagos in its Normal Form.
- This episode marks the first time a Pokémon makes its anime debut past its debut generation since Togetic made its debut in A Togepi Mirage!, which is Carkol.
