"The Bicker the Better" is the 72nd episode of Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire, and the 348th episode of Pokémon the Series. It first aired in Japan on April 15, 2004, and in the United States on April 2, 2005. This episode was not aired in some countries due to the episode being regarded as a "battle of the sexes", which some saw as encouraging sexism.

Plot

Things quickly spiral out of control when the incessant bickering between Ash Ketchum and May overlaps with the never-ending squabbles between James and Jessie. To make matters worse, both groups had previously been defeated by a couple that was both in love and in battle.

  • Blaziken is also a correct answer on the Pokémon Trainer's Choice segment, as the Bug-type Ariados is weak against Fire-type moves.
