The game is plays like a beat 'em up in an isometric perspective. The player can play as one of the four turtles which have different abilities and movesets using their signature weapons and can switch between them freely. After defeating enough enemies, they can use their special bar to perform a special move. It has RPG mechanics in which defeating enemies will earn the turtles XP to unlock new moves which can be assigned to different buttons. There is also a crafting mechanic from collecting loot from stages.
Essentially, the turtles breakdown into the following abilities:
Raphael - Large amounts of HP to handle one-on-one fights
Donatello - Longer reach weapon with healing capabilities
Leonardo - Balanced fighter with some "spellcasting"
Michelangelo - Speedier fighter with a ranged attack and ability to access certain parts of the sewers.
