Team Rocket are an organized crime syndicate in pursuit of evil and exploitation of Pokémon based in the Kanto and Johto regions with a small outpost in the Sevii Islands.

While its main focus is stealing or capturing, then selling, rare and strong Pokémon, it also funds and conducts cruel experimental research on Pokémon. Their oath, as posted on the wall of one of their many bases, is "Steal Pokémon for profit. Exploit Pokémon for profit. All Pokémon exist for the glory of Team Rocket." Their ultimate goal is to take over the world using Pokémon.

Appearance

Team Rocket has appeared in lots of different Pokémon games over the years. The games they feature in are Pokémon Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, FireRed, LeafGreen, HeartGold and SoulSilver, and Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. They are also prominent in the Pokémon anime and different Pokémon mangas.

Most of the time, the are wearing black outfits with the group's insignia on their chest and gray gloves and boots. Females wear short skirts while men wear long pants.

Jessie and James are different in that they wear the inverted colors with black gloves and boots and a white outfit though they do wear a black shirt underneath.The insiginia is still red though. The Generation II female grunt shares similarities with Jessie though with pigtails instead. During Best Wishes, Jessie and James wore black for a while.

Some former members appear in games Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Sun and Moon.

In Pokémon Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, they appear as Team Rainbow Rocket. In this game, their goal is to use Ultra Beasts to take over the world. Many villians from previous games, like Lysandre and Cyrus joined this Team.
