Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is a remaster of one of the entries in the Tales series, a series of role-playing games by Bandai Namco, released for the Nintendo Switch.

Gameplay

The game is a fantasy role-playing game with an action combat system and a large cast of characters. On the field, the characters travel the world with reduced-scale environments seeing towns and similar locations that can be entered in regular scale. There are also enemies to be encountered which enter an arena with the enemies and the player's active party. The characters have their own movesets and specialties. These allies can be played with humans controlling them in these battles alone. With the experience earned from battles, the characters level up and earn Learning Points to unlock their skills and Artes.

As the player travels the world, they will trigger optional events called Skits. The player's party will start a conversation with each character represented by a portrait. These skits usually flesh out the world, either discussing what just happened in the plot or adding a bit of levity with some funny observations.
