Takashi Kawaguchi is a former producer and public relations manager at Nintendo. He was one of the key figures in the foundation of Shigesato Itoi's Ape, Inc., which would allow external developers to create games for Nintendo.
After Pokémon became a worldwide phenomenon, Kawaguchi became one of the main product supervisors of the franchise (along Tsunekazu Ishihara) covering aspects like Pokémon the Series and various merchandise.
Kawaguchi left Nintendo in 2001.
