Takao Shimizu (born June 29, 1965) is a video game designer who works at Nintendo. He started providing technical support on projects like Shin Onigashima, and later production and coordination on various EAD titles under Shigeru Miyamoto. He also directed Star Fox 64 and Pokémon Stadium among other titles.

In 2002, Shimizu was appointed as the manager of the Nintendo EAD Software Tokyo Group 1. Since then he has produced or supervised most of the games created at the Tokyo branch, like Super Mario Galaxy or the Nintendo 3DS Zelda remakes, along Yoshiaki Koizumi.
