The Swarming Sheargrub is a member of the Mandiblard Family that appear in Pikmin 3 where they can be found in the Tropical Wilds only. They are a small green Mandiblard that look very similar to the Female Sheargrub in appearance. Their role as an enemy is to be a nuisance to the captains but they are harmless to Pikmin.
Behavior[]
The Swarming Sheargrub appear in swarms and moove around at quick speed which can cause trouble if Pikmin are ordered to take care of them as they may chase them really far and be eaten by other creature, the Swarming Sheargrub however is unable to attack Pikmin. They can drink Nectar and grow bigger however and can even weight down objects.

These are the only known enemies that can increase in size by consuming an item.
In the April 17th, 2013 Nintendo Direct footage that revealed Winged Pikmin, Swarming Sheargrub sound effects can be heard in the Twilight River, suggesting that they were originally going to appear in that area.
