Suika Game is a puzzle game developed by Aladdin X.
It was released on Nintendo Switch (via the Nintendo eShop) on December 9, 2021 in Japan, and then worldwide on October 20, 2023.
Gameplay[]
The objective in this game is to combine fruits to transform them to different, larger ones. The goal is to form watermelons without overflowing the box.
Online mode is also being planned for future release.
Release[]
It was first released for Aladdin X's "popIn Aladdin" projectors in Japan in April 2021. Later that year, it made its console debut on the Nintendo Switch on the Nintendo eShop on December 9, 2021 in Japan, and later worldwide on October 20, 2023.
Multi-Player Mode Expansion Pack[]
A paid downloadable content with two-player multiplayer and additional modes for it was released in February 2024.
These are the three modes in the DLC:
- Original - Two players simply compete for the highest score until one of them is eliminated.
- Time Limit - At 5 minutes, two players must compete for the highest score before time runs out. If the ranbow gauge runs out, fruits will automatically drop.
- Attack - Two players must try to defeat each other, and the one standing wins. Every five attempts, the player can send a giant fruit to their opponent.
Reception[]
The game received mostly mixed reviews from critics; some praises went towards the gameplay and price, but criticism for its lack of content and control issues. It currently has no score on Metacritic.[2]
Trivia[]
- "Suika" is rōmaji for "watermelon", hence the game's name and theme.
