First partner Pokémon

Starter Pokémon are Pokémon that you must choose between in each Pokémon video game. In each game, you must choose between three Pokémon. One will be water, another grass, and another fire (excluding Pikachu in Pokémon Yellow). It should be noted that Bulbasaur, while typically known as a grass Pokémon, is also a poison type as well. When leveling up, some Starter Pokémon will gain a second type as well, such as Charizard becoming a fire and flying type and Torterra becoming a Grass and Ground type.

	Mudkip	Sapphire / Ruby / Emerald	Water	258	The Water type Pokemon. There is a phrase that says So I herd you liek Mudikpz. It is a water type Pokemon based on a mud fish.
	Turtwig	Diamond / Pearl / Platinum	Grass	387	A grass type of turtle Pokémon that strangely can learn a Water type move as its basic move.
	Chimchar	Diamond / Pearl / Platinum	Fire	390	A Fire monkey that has a fire tail. It is the Sinnoh fire type Starter. It sets out the fire on its tail when it sleeps.
	Piplup	Diamond / Pearl / Platinum	Water	393	A Water type Pokemon of Sinnoh. It resembles a penguin. It lives in icy mountains and hates accepting food from humans that aren't its trainer.
