Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an action-adventure video game for the Nintendo Switch developed by Ubisoft Toronto. The game uses toys-to-life ship models and pilots to allow the player to customize how they play, but all the ships can be purchased as digital add-on content if desired.

Plot

The game is set in the Atlas star system. Early on in the game the player's mothership, the Equinox, is ambushed by the Forgotten Legion and crashes on a nearby planet; the captain of the Equinox is taken hostage. The Legion's leader, Grax, is obsessed with an extinct race called the Wardens; who left much of their ancient technology behind. Grax, who wants to use such technology for his own legion, acts as a constant threat that the player must face throughout their journey.

Exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version, is the cross over of the Star Fox series, where Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare, and Slippy Toad provide aid to the main Starlink characters while on their mission to hunt down Wolf O'Donnell.

Gameplay

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an action-adventure game where the player pilots a spacecraft. The player navigates the Atlas Star System to find other planets to establish bases and defeat enemies. There are also encounters with the planet's native life and researchers.

The main mechanic is the the various spaceships the player can purchase as a physical toy and customize. The player can chose the pilot, the main spacecraft, the left weapon and the right weapon.

The Switch version includes an exclusive storyline where the player helps Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team hunt down Wolf. Included in the starter pack is a special ship for the Arwing that has the special ability to fire charge shots in its default form.
