Starfy is a protagonist of The Legendary Starfy video games. He's also commonly known as Stafy, though the appropriate name to use is debatable (although the name "Starfy" and "Stafy" has been officially used in both Japan and America). In the video game series (which has four games in all, each having a similar style to the Kirby series), he is seven years old, and like Kirby is quite small, though slightly taller at one foot, two inches. He also has a friend named Moe (Which is a clam) and Starly is his sister. Starfy has been on 5 adventures so far.

Though Starfy looks like a starfish, he's not one and though he came from the sky he's not a star. According to TOSE, they have a company policy that states that when someone asks whether Starfy is a Star or a Starfish, they respond with "neither" [1]. He lives in the sky, and after falling into the ocean, many had false assumptions that he was a starfish.

Starfy's first three games were on the Game Boy Advanced and the fourth and fifth on DS. The fifth game for the DS is, as of yet, the only one that has been released in America. This will be the first Starfy game released in the US and goes under the name The Legendary Starfy.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Starfy is in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as an assist trophy, though, he's under his Japenese name, Stafy. When released he jumps around the stage and sometimes spin attacks enemies like he does in his own games. He is also the only assist trophy that can be hit.

Trophy description

"The prince of the kingdom of Tenkai. He's a bit spacey and clumsy, but when he sets his mind to something, he gives it his all. Stafy gets help from his friends Kyorosuke the clam and the wizened Lobjii-san. Stafy sometimes dons a pig suit and throws pork cutlets. In Densetsu No Stafy 3, Stafy meets Wario and goes with him to steal the treasures of the deep."
