Star Wars Episode 1: Racer is a game by LucasArts that was released for the Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color, among other non Nintendo systems. Nintendo held the publishing rights for the games released on their systems. The game is a racing title that was released in 1999 to coincide with the film release of Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. The concept of the game originates from the racing scene in the movie, and consists of many of the characters from the film. This was not the only game to be based off of the film.

Game Boy Color version

The Game Boy Color version was vastly different from its console counterpart. The graphics weren't as superior as the Nintendo 64 game's and was seen from a bird's eye view. The Game Boy Color cartridge had a rumble feature, though it would occasionally run out of power, requiring you to replace its batteries.
