Star Wars is a multimedia franchise that includes video games. It's a dramatic and action-packed "space opera", or a science-fiction epic focusing on the on-going battle of good versus evil.
The franchise began as a film trilogy between 1977 and 1983. The original 1977 film was directed by George Lucas, and the novelization was published already in November 1976.[1][2]
Numerous Star Wars related games have appeared on Nintendo gaming devices, the earliest being Star Wars, a game released on the Famicom in 1987. Since then, a Star Wars game has appeared on every Nintendo console and handheld (with the exception of Virtual Boy). The complete list can be seen below.
