The Squid Sisters(JP) are a pop idol duo in Splatoon, consisting of Callie and Marie. Together, they host Inkopolis News; announcing events, updates, and the current stages in rotation. They also host Splatfest events, with each sister representing one of the two teams. Despite their name, they are actually cousins, not sisters.
After the last Splatfest of Splatoon, the Squid Sisters grew in popularity, but Callie and Marie took separate paths, leading to the events of Splatoon 2. The story of Callie and Marie's separation was told in Squid Sisters Stories, a series of stories made available on official Splatoon websites.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the two appear as an Assist Trophy. When summoned, they will start a performance in the middle of the stage, teleporting there if they're not summoned there. During the performance, the camera will zoom closer and closer to them, which brings the blast lines closer together, making it easier for fighters to be KOd. Once their performance is over, they will disappear, and the camera will revert to normal.
