Sombron is the main antagonist and final boss of Fire Emblem Engage.

Profile[]

One thousand years prior to the beginning of Engage, the Fell Dragon Sombron ravaged and conquered Elyos. He was stopped by a group of heroes that sealed him away with the power of Emblems. In the present, a sect of his followers, known as the Four Hounds, seek to free him.

Sombron originally came from another world, where a war over the possession of its Emblems was fought. As a child, Sombron's entire family was wiped out by enemy forces, leaving him the only survivor. He was exiled to Elyos by enemy forces and only spared from murder out of kindness. His only comfort was the Emblem of Foundations, who disappeared a few years after he was adopted by a village who believed him to be a lost child. The loss of the only being he considered a friend made him bitter, and he blamed the villagers for its disappearance out of the belief that the Emblem wished for him to remain alone. He destroyed the village and began seeking the Emblems of Elyos to reunite with his Emblem and exact revenge on those who exiled him.

It is later revealed that he is the father of Alear and Veyle.
