A Shadow is a creature found in both 600 A.D. and 2300 A.D. in Chrono Trigger. They can only be defeated by using magic attacks.

Crono and his party encounter some Shadows while traveling through Lab 16, Lab 32, and Arris Dome in 2300 A.D.
Magus's Castle
A few Shadows are also found in Magus' Lair in 600 A.D.
