Sea Pipe Statue (Bowser's Inside Story)

The Sea Pipe Statue is the boss in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey that is encountered at Plack Beach. It is a fountain statue that has pipes attached on the sides of it and a Blooper known as Stone Blooper at the top. The statue was supposedly made of a hero of an after-mentioned location (though Bowser temporarily thought it was himself before saying that that his eyes are more manly than that) that Fawful brought to life in order to impede Bowser's progress.

While battling Bowser, the only attack Stone Blooper has is hiding inside one of the pipes attached to the statue and shooting itself at Bowser, who must counter the attack with a punch. To defeat it, Bowser can inhale in the Blooper so Mario and Luigi can fight it. When the Stone Blooper takes damage from Mario and Luigi's attacks, the statue it was attached to also takes damage, which is strange since the statue is outside Bowser. While battling Mario and Luigi, the Blooper may fly toward them for a tackle attack. Once the Blooper takes enough damage, it will flash red, similar to the Fury status effect, and its next tackle attack will be much faster. Both of these tackle attacks can be countered by using the hammer. Countering its charged-up tackle attack will launch it out of Bowser's mouth and cause it to crash into its statue. Bowser can then attack without fear of retaliation for several turns, along with it taking small amounts of damage each turn. Another one of its attacks consists of it embedding itself in the fleshy floor of the battlefield and spinning quickly, thus injuring Bowser. Soon, the Blooper will float out of Bowser's mouth and regain its place on top of the statue.

When the Sea Pipe Statue and Stone Blooper are defeated, the fountain statue becomes a normal fountain, which Bowser can drink out of to fill up his stomach and to allow Mario and Luigi access to the Pump Works.

Trivia[]

  • This is the only enemy that damages Bowser from inside while fighting the Mario Bros. with the exception of Durmite, but she does not battle Bowser herself.
  • Even though the Stone Blooper can be defeated inside Bowser, its Defeat Effect is like a normal enemy's. The Defeat Effect for most bosses (with the exception of Bowser Memory ML and the Shroobs) happens only to the statue it was attached to.
  • The Stone Blooper is the only boss who can be damaged by both the Mario Bros. and Bowser.
