Commander of the Archangels
Please note that this story contains spoilers for both parts of the Faith Forsaken event.
Sandalphon: I have signed the document. Now if you would please place your signature here?
Euden: Aaand...there we go.
Sandalphon: I am sorry to take up so much of your time, but this is a necessary bit of paperwork that must be done before we can join forces with you.
Euden: Oh, I've had much worse bureaucracy sessions, believe me. Besides, it's worth it knowing we can count on your help.
Sandalphon: You were of great assistance during the incident with Satan, so it is only natural for us to return the favor in kind.
Sandalphon: I give you my word now: In times of emergency or strife, both angels and apostles will be there to assist you.
Euden: Thank you. I'm quite looking forward to working with you.
Cleo: And now for the refreshments! This is the least we can do for making you come all the way out here.
Sandalphon: There is no need for treats. It is my job to offer support in an organizational capacity, so I tend to visit many places. Honestly, I don't feel it's especially arduous.
Sandalphon: Instead of snacks, perhaps you might permit me to observe the goings-on here at the Halidom?
Sandalphon: I've heard bits and pieces from the apostles, and this is a fine opportunity to see it all for myself.
Euden: We'd be happy to show you whatever you like. You mind playing tour guide, Cleo?
Sandalphon: ...I see. Just as was reported, this castle is a mixing pot of all sorts of people from all manner of places.
Cleo: Yes, His Highness's personality tends to attract a wide variety of people.
Cleo: Though there are a few troublemakers—
Sinoa: Oh no. No, no, NO! I did it AGAIN!
Cleo: Gya! ...Looks like Sinoa is at it again, and with such impeccable timing.
Cleo: I cannot apologize enough for frightening you, Sandalphon. I fear we have such explosions regularly here at the Halidom, but I promise they're harmless. ...Mostly.
Sandalphon: Do not worry. The apostles informed me there was someone here who frequently failed in her experiments with space-time magic to spectacular effect.
Cleo: Ah, well, that is a relief.
Cleo: (Even if she DOES know about the explosions, how does she not even change expressions when it happens?)
Cleo: (She is so cool and collected—though perhaps that is to be expected of the one in charge of all the angels.)
Cleo: Well, that was all of the notable places within the Halidom. I certainly hope you found it to be a fulfilling time.
Sandalphon: Actually, I would like to view your hidden technology if that is acceptable.
Cleo: Hidden...technology? I'm, uh...not certain what you mean, Sandalphon.
Sandalphon: The apostles informed me there was someone here with a most unusual device.
Sandalphon: I wish to meet this person. I believe her name was...
Xiao Lei: Let us begin with 8,512 and 4,030... *clackity* *clackity*
Sandalphon: The speed with which this device can calculate is most impressive indeed.
Cleo: Ah, now I understand. You wanted to see the abacus at work!
Sandalphon: Correct. Expediting calculations will help my daily workload go much faster.
Sandalphon: Running an organization requires running numbers as well, so bookkeeping is but another part of my job.
Xiao Lei: Reeeally? You know, I think this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship...
Cleo: As the one charged with taking care of this castle, I understand your struggle all too well, Sandalphon.
Cleo: Well, if there's anything we can help with, we would be more than happy to do so. Isn't that right, Xiao Lei?
Xiao Lei: Math-molutely! In fact, why don't you take this spare abacus here?
Sandalphon: No need. If you can but tell me how this is made and the secrets of its workings, that will be sufficient.
Cleo: Er, are you certain?
Sandalphon: Yes. Our agreement forms an alliance against strategic threats, but makes no mention of exchanging goods or materials.
Sandalphon: More importantly, our commander, Regina, specializes in tools such as this.
Sandalphon: ...And that is all there is to know about the abacus. Can you replicate it?
Regina: A calculation device from the eastern country of Taiwu, eh? Sure, sounds fun.
Regina: Though I have to say, it's pretty unusual for you to request something from me.
Sandalphon: Yes, I suppose this is something of a first.
Regina: Well, I don't mind in the slightest. Sounds like this abacus will make your work go by much faster.
Regina: Anyway, just hang around for a bit and I'll give you all you asked for and more.
Sandalphon: Thinking back, I don't believe I have ever asked a commander for a favor—not even once during the hundreds of years I served Metatron.
Sandalphon: So why now?
