Sand Spiral Galaxy is a bonus galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. It can be found behind the Engine Room and there's a hungry Luma who must be fed. The two stars, "Faster than a Speeding Penguin" in the Sea Slide Galaxy and "Luigi and the Haunted Mansion" in the Ghostly Galaxy, must be completed first. The galaxy's star, "Choosing a Favorite Snack", focuses on various power-ups.

The galaxy is split into two parts. The first part requires Mario to traverse over quicksand with either a Bee Mushroom or Boo Mushroom. At the end, Mario must run along a spiral path with a Rainbow Star.
