SSX 3 is the third video game in the SSX series and the second to hit a Nintendo platform, that console being the GameCube and the Game Boy Advance. It was welcomed to high praise, currently having an average of 92% on Game Rankings. It improves on the previous outing of the series, SSX Tricky, which was also highly praised among critics.

Gameplay

The game, like all of them in the series, is a snowboarding video game in which you either race down the mountain or perform a multitude of tricks to rack up your points. The main mode of the game is single play, in which you'll be able to race or partake in an event that requires you to gain as many points as possible (there are three modes of the latter including Big Air, Superpipe, and Slopestyle). The game of course also features a multiplayer mode.

Reception

The GameCube version of the game was welcomed to extremely positive reviews, while the Game Boy Advance version didn't fare as well. Gamespy and IGN claimed that SSX 3 was possibly the "finest snowboarding game ever", rewarding the game with a 9.5 and 9.3, respectively. GameInformer praised the difficulty level and the change in difficulty over time.
