Ryū ga Gotoku 1 & 2 HD for Wii U is a HD remasters of the first two games of the Yakuza/Ryū ga Gotoku series that were originally released for the PlayStation 2. Originally the HD remaster was released for the PlayStation 3 in 2012 and later ported for the Wii U the year later. This was first of the Yakuza/Ryū ga Gotoku series to ported to Nintendo console. Despite the first two games that were released outside of Japan the HD remasters however they were never released internationally.

In Japan, both the Yakuza/Ryū ga Gotoku and its sequel were critically and commercially successful upon its original releases on the PlayStation 2.

Wii U

Despite being well received on the Wii U version sold poorly than its PlayStation 3 counterpart.
