Rune Factory 4 is the first Rune Factory game for the 3DS. The game was coming to Europe, but was unfortunately cancelled due to the developer, Neverland, shutting down before localization finished. In 2014, it was revealed that XSEED would do an eShop-only release of the game in Europe.

Reception

The game has sold well. It is among XSEED's best-selling titles and it has sold 250 thousand in Japan, making it the best-selling game from Marvelous that is not Harvest Moon.
