The Ripple Star Queen, also known as the Fairy Queen and as the Queen of Ripple Star in Japanese, is a character in the Kirby series, making her debut in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Her true name is unknown, but she is, as her name implies, the leader of Ripple Star. She is the reason why Ribbon goes on her quest to protect the Crystal and save it when she loses it.

Personality[]

In spite of her position as queen, the Ripple Star Queen can be an airhead. She is rather clumsy as seen when she bows, and her glasses fall in a lopsided manner.

Appearance[]

The Ripple Star Queen is an adult female of her species. She dresses rather eclectically, with a white long-sleeve kimono (whose sleeves cover her hands) with a faded pink collar, and a blue tie that streches down to her kneecaps. She has a long red skirt with zigzag golden stripes near the bottom, and a pink dress under that. On her head rests a golden crown, which goes cockeyed in a disheveled manner when she bows at the end of the game. She has glasses indicating bad eyesight.

The Ripple Star Queen has black hair tied in braids. Her eyes are purple. Several brown freckles line her cheeks.

Biography[]

The Ripple Star Queen makes her debut in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. She panics when the Dark Matter invades the planet, however. Ribbon sees the threat and goes to the castle so she can protect the queen. After their chat of what happened, the queen asks Ribbon to make off with the crystal. Ribbon's mission fails, and she is sent spiraling down to Ripple Star as the Dark Matter attacks her.

Kirby and Ribbon return and find the queen possessed by the Dark Matter force, but they restore the crystal and she is purified (though knocked out) by a laser beam it fires at her. She is later restored to life and gives the heroes (Kirby, Ribbon, a Waddle Dee, King Dedede, and Adeleine) medals to repay their deeds.

The Ripple Star Queen makes a cameo in Kirby Star Allies in a picture that Adeleine is drawing at the end of her guest star itinerary.

Trivia[]

  • The Ripple Star Queen is said to have died when the Dark Matter pierced her body in the official Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards BradyGames guide book, but she is shown alive and well after Dark Star's destruction.
