Redd, or Crazy Redd as he is occasionally referred to as, is a character in the Animal Crossing series. He sells furniture for 'crazy prices' that are generally higher than Tom Nook's prices. He also sells paintings, but they are likely forgeries.

Animal Crossing series

In Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: Wild World for the GameCube and Nintendo DS, respectively, Crazy Redd would randomly appear in your town and set up shop via a tent. He was cautious of letting people in, afraid of being caught by the police, and thus would only let those with a password to visit him. Once inside, the players could view his items and decide to purchase them.

In Animal Crossing: City Folk, Redd could be found in the city at all times on the left side of town. To get inside of his shop, however, you'll have to have in your possession a secret invitation that you can obtain by one of the villagers. In the game the characters in the city will occasionally say that the part of town where Redd is located is "sketchy'.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Redd randomly appears in your town and set up shop via a tent again. He isn't as cautious and sells artwork, but this time, there's identifiable visual differences. Also, on 4th of July, he sells fireworks and gives prizes.

The following is Redd's trophy description in Super Smash Bros. Brawl:

The owner and proprietor of Crazy Redd's Emporium, which sells furniture acquired on the black market. It's said he's famous in the underworld. He drops by once a week and sets up his tent in front of the town hall. His shop's full of rare items, but the prices are high. It's open until midnight, an hour longer than Tom Nook's place, which pleases night players.
