Rayman (JP) is a sidescrolling platform game for the Game Boy Color, developed by Ubisoft. It's an 8-bit version of the original Rayman released five years prior for other systems, and even though it shares name, story and gameplay elements, it's a separate title with its own level design. Some of the music is taken from Rayman 2: The Great Escape.

Years later, more faithful versions of the original release were launched for the Game Boy Advance (called Rayman Advance) and DSiWare. This version was also released on the 3DS's Virtual Console worldwide.
