Rare Stone Taluses are a type of Talus, large Golem-like creatures that serves as Bosses in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The rare Stone Talus is the most resistant and valuable type of Talus found in the game.

Behavior[]

Rare Stone Taluses usually blend in the environment until Link gets near them. They will then form their body and start attacking. They can punch Link if he gets too close or throw their arms like a boulder for a ranged attack. They can also slam their bodies into the ground to harm Link. Their body is completely invincible aside from a single node located in their back. Unlike other Taluses, the node of the Rare Stone Talus is lower and prevent it from being targeted by most projectiles from the front. Link must either manage to get behind the Rare Stone Talus to target the node or break its arms with a Remote Bomb, which makes it fall over and allow you to reach the node by climbing the Talus. They can drop most gems in the game including: Flint, Amber, Opal, Ruby, Sapphire, Topaz, Diamond. They have 900 health, which makes them the most resistant Talus in the game aside maybe from the Igneo Talus Titan.

Hyrule Compendium Entry[]

"This enormous monster is naturally camouflaged as a rock formation. Neither stone nor arrow can pierce its stony form, but a cunning adventurer knows to scale its body and attack the ore sprouting from its peak. Unlike your average Stone Talus, this type's ore deposit contains a large amount of precious ore."
