Rainmaker is a Ranked Battle mode in the game Splatoon. Two teams of four battle for control of an item called the Rainmaker. Teams must break a shield surrounding the Rainmaker in order to capture it, and whoever breaks the shield first will cause an explosion of ink in that team's color. A single player than takes control of the Rainmaker and must bring it into a designated area set up near the opposing team's point of origin. The player that has the Rainmaker will not be able to use any of their weapons, subs and specials. and they won't be able to super jump to other parts of the map. However, the Rainmaker can be used to shoot a tornado-like shot of ink that can splat rivals and create a path to victory. In Splatoon 2, the rainmaker fires a fireball of ink instead of a tornado of ink.
