Raiden is a summon featured in the Final Fantasy series, originating in Final Fantasy VI for the SNES. In his initial appearance, Raiden rode on top of a horse, though in his second appearance, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings for the Nintendo DS, he was alone and had extremely spikey blond hair, invoking his element - lightning.
In VI, Raiden can be obtained by giving the Odin Magicite to the Queen's statue. The tear that is released from the statue's eye will hit the Magicite, thus transforming it into Raiden.
Raiden's name comes from Japanese mythology, in which a god of the same name is a god of thunder and lightning - appropriate for this lightning based summon.
