Episode 1
Servant to the King
Cleo: This way, sir.
Euden: Hmm?
Raemond: Thank you, young lady. My apologies for the trouble.
Euden: Who's this, Cleo?
Raemond: It is good to see you well, Your Highness.
Euden: I'm sorry, have we met?
Raemond: I used to serve your father, Your Highness. I've known you since you were small.
Euden: My father?!
Raemond: Indeed. My name is Raemond.
Raemond: I'll admit, it has been some years since I last set eyes on you.
Raemond: It gladdens me to see what a fine young man you have become.
Raemond: Your eyes look just like your father's when he was your age.
Euden: Oh?
Raemond: He was a man like no other, his eyes ever filled with strength and resolve.
Raemond: To think such a thing could happen...
Euden: I'm ashamed that I allowed it to happen.
Raemond: You need not feel responsible, Highness.
Raemond: Regardless, while my days of active service are long behind me, when a king goes astray, it is the duty of his servants to put him to rights.
Raemond: For that reason, I pray you might allow me to fight at your side, Highness.
Raemond: I may not be as young as I once was, but... Hraaaaah!
Euden: That's some very impressive swordwork.
Raemond: I'm glad you can appreciate my skills.
Raemond: No matter my age, you will not regret having me in your corps.
Euden: In that case, welcome aboard.
Cleo: We've plenty of free rooms in the castle, so please take your pick.
Raemond: Thank you. I shall head there anon.
Raemond: Ohhh... My back pains me anew...
Raemond: Ah, but age is a terrible beast. Once, a swing of my sword could create storms, but now it leaves me in this sorry state.
Raemond: Still, this is no time to be enjoying a comfortable retirement.
Raemond: I will right your wrongs, my king. This will be my final duty.
Raemond: I could not keep the first promise I made to you, but I WILL keep my word now!
Episode 2
The Prince's Talent
Raemond: Now show me what you can do, Your Highness!
Euden: All right! ...Haaaaah!
Raemond: A commendable effort, and yet... From above! From the side!
Raemond: From below!
Euden: Wh-whoa! H-hang on just a—
Euden: Gya! Owww...
Euden: You truly are a master swordsman, Raemond. I'm having trouble keeping up.
Raemond: May I speak plain, Highness?
Euden: Of course.
Raemond: You are clearly no prodigy when it comes to the sword.
Raemond: And while it would be unfair to compare you to the standard your father set, you do not even measure up to your brothers.
Euden: You're not the first person to tell me that, but I can't say it feels good to hear it.
Raemond: Only ill comes from denying the truth.
Raemond: In his younger years, your father trained at this level without breaking a sweat.
Euden: He used to undergo harsh training such as this?
Raemond: Yes, though it was more game than practice to him.
Raemond: Your father was a truly capable swordsman. You had to demonstrate a skill but once, and he made it his own.
Raemond: Yet when I look upon him now... Whatever happened to him?
Euden: ......
Raemond: Ah. Forgive me. It is not proper for you to see me in such a state.
Euden: There's nothing to be ashamed of.
Raemond: I thank you. But if I may, Highness, a final piece of advice?
Raemond: It is true that your father has the upper hand in swordsmanship when compared to you.
Raemond: But there is one area in which you stand above him.
Raemond: And so long as you continue to work on that strength, I feel certain you will not make the same mistake he did.
Euden: What do you mean? What strength is that?
Raemond: I refer, of course, to your diligence.
Raemond: I know well just how hard you train every night in order to better yourself.
Euden: You've seen, have you?
Raemond: But if you're still losing to an old man like me, it is clearly not enough!
Raemond: So raise your sword, Highness! Your task is to defeat me, even once!
Raemond: If you cannot do that, I fear for your future.
Euden: All right. I'll do it!
Euden: ...And I'll do it TODAY!
Raemond: Oh ho! I'm looking forward to this. Now...let us begin.
Episode 3
Fighting Spirit
Raemond: ...Pathetic!
Raemond: Is that truly the best you can do?!
Raemond: You're never going to be able to protect anyone like that!
Raemond: Practice or no, a true knight never gives less than their all!
Rookie Soldier: Sir, yes, sir!
Raemond: Now swing those swords! Swing as if your life depends on it!
Raemond: Pour your soul into every last swing!
Euden: What's going on here?
Euden: Why is Raemond training everyone?
Ranza;: 'Cause they all saw you and him sparrin'.
Ranzal: He's got some real skill with a sword, plus he's a natural teacher.
Ranzal: Seeing him in action was enough to wow anyone who dreams of gettin' stronger.
Ranzal: I'd know, 'cause I'm one of 'em.
Raemond: You're late, Your Highness! ...And Ranzal! Such slacking is unacceptable!
Raemond: One thousand swings! Both of you!
Euden: Sorry! I'll get started right away!
Ranzal: Hah! Hah! Hah! Hah! Hah!
Raemond: You've impressive strength for a man of your years, Ranzal.
Ranzal: Hah! Thanks.
Raemond: But your center of gravity is off, and you put too much effort into your swings.
Raemond: That might be all right for short battles, but your stamina won't hold in long ones.
Raemond: ...Here. Give me your axe. I'll show you how it's done.
Ranzal: You sure, old man? It's pretty heavy, and I wouldn't want ya to...
Raemond: Yaaaaaaah! *CRAAACK*
Raemond: Uuuurk! M-my back...
Ranzal: You okay?!
Euden: Your back just made an awful cracking sound. I've never heard anything like it.
Raemond: Enough!
Raemond: This is nothing; a good night's sleep will see it dealt with.
Raemond: Now get back to your training!
Raemond: Show me some practice swings! NOW!
Ranzal: He's got real spirit for someone who just damn near paralyzed himself.
Euden: We need to learn from his example!
Episode 4
Loyalty to the King
Raemond: Hmph!
Raemond: You've grown stronger, Highness. But...
Euden: Gah... I'm still no match for you.
Raemond: Perhaps not, but your skills are still developing nicely.
Raemond: You may not equal your father in his younger years, but you are finally worthy of standing in his shadow.
Euden: That doesn't make me feel like I've come very far at all.
Euden: ...Was my father really so skilled a swordsman?
Raemond: Indeed he was. Despite being king, he was stronger than anyone I have known.
Raemond: I dreamed to one day be his equal.
Raemond: Day and night, I practiced without pause.
Raemond: Eventually my efforts caught his eye, and we began to speak with one another.
Raemond: In time, we became rivals, then friends. Eventually we were close enough that he allowed me to hold you as a baby.
Euden: I had no idea.
Raemond: He wasn't merely strong, either—he was also exceptionally brave.
Raemond: In one battle we fought, I found myself alone and surrounded by the enemy.
Raemond: Just as I had given up hope, King Aurelius and some of his men charged through the enemy formation and saved me.
King Aurelius: Apologies for the delay, old friend!
Raemond: Your Majesty?! Wh-what brings you here?
King Aurelius: Is it not obvious? I came to save you.
King Aurelius: I would never turn my back on a friend!
Raemond: That day, I swore my life to him.
Raemond: He is my one and only true king.
Euden: So that's the kind of person my father was on the battlefield...
Euden: I've never fought alongside him, so I wouldn't know.
Euden: Say, Raemond?
Euden: Do you think I'll ever be able to become like my father was in his younger years?
Raemond: That's a formidable goal, Your Highness.
Raemond: Still...
Raemond: I suppose that will depend on how much effort you are willing to put in.
Euden: That figures.
Euden: If I'm still only worthy of standing in his shadow, I've got a long road ahead of me.
Raemond: But if you want to achieve your goal, the only way to do so is with hard training.
Raemond: So take up your sword, Your Highness.
Euden: I'd be happy to!
Raemond: ...So he dreams of being like his father, does he? What a joyous thing to hear.
Raemond: That is a moment I cannot afford to miss.
Episode 5
A New Oath
Euden: We need to break through... Take THIS!
Bandit 1: Graaaah!
Bandit 2: Have some'a this!
Euden: *pant* *pant* Damn. There's still more!
Bandit 2: Yer mine, Princey!
Raemond: Raaaaah!
Raemond: Are you well, Your Highness?
Euden: Raemond! Thank you for saving me.
Bandit 3: This ain't over yet!
Raemond: Bah. They've numbers if aught else.
Raemond: Leave them to me, Highness!
Raemond: You must retreat and reorganize!
Euden: What? No!
Euden: I'm not just leaving you on your own!
Raemond: Heh. You need not fear for me—I won't be defeated by whippersnappers like these, no matter how great their numbers.
Raemond: Now, hurry and retre—
Euden: I refuse!
Euden: You may have far more combat experience than me, but that's one suggestion I won't listen to.
Euden: It's when times are hard that I most need to stand at the front and guide everyone. That is what my father taught me.
Euden: And I've made a promise to myself...
Euden: I'm never going to sacrifice anyone!
Raemond: Y-Your Highness...
Euden: Raaaaah!
King Aurelius: Is it not obvious? I came to save you.
King Aurelius: I would never turn my back on a friend!
Raemond: Heh... Aaaah ha ha! Impressive. Very impressive indeed!
Raemond: Perhaps you're closer to your father's level than I gave you credit for.
Raemond: I fear age has clouded my vision.
Bandit 4: This ain't the time to be lost in thought, old-timer! Hraaaaah!
Raemond: Hmph!
Bandit 4: Gaaah!
Raemond: Your Highness, listen to me.
Euden: What is it?
Raemond: I was determined that I would only serve one man my life through—but here and now, I pledge myself to you.
Raemond: So long as you stand and fight at the front of battle, I will fight at your side!
Euden: That is a great honor, Raemond.
Raemond: Come, Highness. We will make it through this together.
Euden: Right. Let's get home alive!
