Radiant Historia (JP) is a RPG developed by Atlus for the Nintendo DS. It was developed by a team that developed a variety of Atlus titles including Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and Etrian Odyssey. Some of the team had worked on the PS2 RPG, Radiata Stories. The game is getting a 3DS remake as Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology.
Gameplay[]
Enemies are visible in the field before being encounter, either by touching one or the game forcing the encounter in story moments. The battle system makes use of a positioning system called the "Grid System". Enemies are placed on a 3 x 3 grid, with each enemy standing in a single slot, except for some large enemies covering multiple slots. If the player attacks an enemy who is in a grid space near the attacking character, the enemy will incur greater damage. However, the player will also be open to greater damage. Enemies can be moved and stacked during a combo which has attacks on that spot. Turn order can also be rearranged, but results in greater risk for those who switched turns
The main mechanic of this game is the time travel. Players can travel forward and back in time to change their decisions and see the resulting outcomes as alternate timelines, trying to create a "true" ending. These alternate timelines result in a number of parallel endings
