Rabbid Yoshi is a Rabbid that is dressed as Yoshi, and one of the eight main playable heroes in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. He was presumably created through Spawny's use of the SupaMerge, but this is not seen. In Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Rabbid Yoshi teams up with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Luigi, and Rabbid Peach to save the Mushroom Kingdom from Rabbid-fused enemies and Bowser Jr.'s attempted takeover. In the game, he has average offense and mobility, as well as great defense.

Personality[]

Rabbid Yoshi is described as crazed, tending to act before thinking about the consequences.[1] His personality is similar to most other members of his species; reckless, crazed, mischievous, and playful. However, when compared to other Rabbids, Rabbid Yoshi could be considered even more hyperactive, a trait supported by his decision to keep his own weapons in his mouth, as well as the many wild facial expressions he pulls. He is also shown to be trigger-happy during the defeat of Calavera in Spooky Trails, where the Rabbid chose to keep shooting at Calavera despite the battle being over.

Appearance[]

He has white fur everywhere except, but around his mouth, inside his ears, on his belly, paws, and under his feet, have pale skin instead and has blue eyes that are usually never looking in the same direction. He has paws with one opposable thumb on each paw and no visible fingers. He also has feet with no visible toes. For attire, he looks like a green Yoshi with what at first glance seems to be a red shell but is a button in actuality. He has a small string under his chin.

Biography[]

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle[]

Rabbid Yoshi was once an ordinary Rabbid up until he was fused with (presumably) a Yoshi costume by Spawny and transported to the Mushroom Kingdom. He lands in Spooky Trails but is quickly captured by Calavera.

Spooky Trails[]

The heroes were on their way to the clock tower to open the Moon Gate, where they first meet Rabbid Yoshi, who was still held hostage by Calavera and was set free once the battle is complete and Rabbid Yoshi wastes no time getting revenge on the beast for hurting him by using his Rumblebang against it, even after the battle concluded. They arrive at the clock tower to reverse time to reposition the moon, required with the Relics of Goodness, allowing the Moon Gate to finally open. They soon discover that Bowser Jr. had fooled them into doing these tasks and forces Spawny to merge a Rabbid with the gramophone and the Boo balloon, turning into the Phantom of the Bwahpera, who proceeds to sing a degrading song about Mario and his series, though they have managed to defeat him.

Lava Pit[]

The heroes then head for the Lava Pit where they find that the volcano was turned into a facility where Bowser Jr. was assembling his merged army. Eventually, they confront the son of Bowser, who attacks them on the Mecha Jr., but he is defeated and Spawny ends up falling off the ledge, to Jr.'s horror and leaves. Fortunately, Yoshi, who Rabbid Yoshi's counterpart managed to save Spawny from a certain doom and they escort him through the caverns. Eventually, Spawny becomes entranced by the energy emitted from the fully formed Megabug, who absorbs him and flies to Bowser's Castle to continue gathering more energy. Bowser Jr. returned to berate the heroes for their poor handling of Spawny, but a text from his father that he is returning home early prompts him to leave for the castle immediately. Once the heroes catch up to Jr. at the castle, they witness Bowser being merged with the Megabug and are forced to fight him, with Jr. begging them to save him. After they purged the Megabug from Bowser, they quickly destroyed it, closing the vortex and saving Spawny. Jr. thanks them for their help in undoing the damage he did and asks if they could speak to Bowser on his behalf. The heroes then return to Peach's Castle where they witness the inauguration of Rabbid Peach's statue, with Rabbid Peach herself being happy enough to bring everyone in for a group photo.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope[]

Rabbid Yoshi does not appear in the sequel, due to him and Yoshi being on vacation from their previous adventure.

Powers and Abilities[]

Rabbid Yoshi's primary weapon is the Rumblebang, a gatling gun-esque weapon that deals several hits, resulting in either sub-par, or tremendous damage. Rabbid Yoshi's secondary weapon is the Grenaduck, an explosive rubber duck that functions similarly to a grenade. Rabbid Yoshi's dash is similar to Rabbid Peach's Stylish Dash, though Rabbid Yoshi is allowed to have more dashes (with the maximum being 5, as opposed to Rabbid Peach's 4). Rabbid Yoshi's first special ability is Outer Shell, which is a high-risk, high-reward shield that nullifies all movement or weapon damage, though it can only take one hit from an enemy (however, a Skill Tree upgrade allows Outer Shell to sustain two hits). Rabbid Yoshi's second special ability is Scaredy Rabbid, which repels any nearby enemies. Like Rabbid Mario's Magnet Dance, it can also be used in conjunction with "line-of-sight techniques" or weapons that have a high chance of inflicting Burn, Push or Bounce. Like Rabbid Luigi's Super Barrier, Rabbid Yoshi's Outer Shell ability can also be used in tandem with Princess Peach's Protection ability to reduce damage greatly.
