Puyo Pop Fever(JP) is a single and multiplayer video game for the Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo DS. It was released in 2004 and was developed by Sonic Team. The GameCube version was published by Sega worldwide and SEGA published all the versions in Japan. However, the portable releases were picked up by other publishers; Atlus for the North American DS version, THQ for the European GBA version and Ignition Entertainment for the European DS version.

Gameplay[]

At the beginning of the game, it's suggested that you go through the training segments to learn how to play the game. The goal of the game is to clear the Puyo, little blob-like creatures, from your screen. Doing so will send Nuisance Puyo over to your opponent's screen. The goal is to destroy as many Puyo on your side as possible, thus sending a multitude of Nuisance Puyo over to the other side, eventually resulting in a victory.

To pop the Puyo, you'll have to line up four of the same colored Puyo in a row. Creating chain effects will send more Nuisance Puyo over to your enemies' side, which is the main objective here. There are many different colors, and the farther you are in the game, the more colors there will be.

By performing good, your fever count (in the center of the screen) will rise. Once it's full, you'll be able to launch fever mode, which will give you a much better chance of constructing successful chains.

The game will end once you or your opponent's tower of Puyo rises over the line.
