CD collection cover

Project Voltage also known as Pokémon feat. Hatsune Miku Project VOLTAGE 18 Types/Songs or simply PokéMiku is a collaboration music project between Pokémon and Crypton Future Media. The project features 18 vocaloid producers with a song and music video based on Hatsune Miku being a trainer for one of the 18 Pokémon types of Pokémon. It originally consisted of 18 original songs and illustrations featuring Hatsune Miku, with additional songs and illustrations added as the scope of the project increased. On August 31, 2024, a continuation of the project titled Project Voltage High was announced, featuring new songs and illustrations.

Background[]

Beginning on September 29, 2023, 18 original songs and music videos by 18 different Vocaloid producers were released on the respective producer's YouTube channel, with 18 being chosen due to it being the number of Pokémon types. The songs featured Hatsune Miku and sampled background music and sound effects from the Pokémon games. The scope of the project later expanded to include 20 different Vocaloid producers and 20 unique songs.

After the release of the 18th original song, it was announced that additional two songs (After Epochs and Champion) would be produced. The next producer was announced after the release of the 19th original song on May 10, 2024, along with the release date of a compilation CD. The last song was announced on July 18, 2024 and with its release, it was announced that some participating producers would be creating remixes by trading each others songs. These remixes were released as a bonus CD bundled with purchases of the compilation CD from Pokémon Center stores or SNOW MIKU Sky Town, with digital releases planned for November 13, 2024.

  • Each Pokémon that is paired with Hatsune Miku has themes in music, singing, software (in Rotom and Miraidon's case), or leeks (in Sirfetch'd's case) - all themes associated with Miku.
