Professor Sada is the professor in Pokémon Scarlet. In Pokémon Violet, Professor Turo takes the role of professor instead. She discovered the Terastal Phenomenon 10 years prior to the start of the game in the Great Crater of Paldea.

History[]

Professor Sada has been deeply involved in research of the Great Crater of Paldea. Several years prior to the start of the game, she had Arven but, due to her obsession with her work, her husband left the both of them. 10 years prior to the start of the games, she lead an expedition to explore the Great Crater. During this expedition, she discovered the mechanics behind the Terastal Phenomenon and developed Tera Orbs that enables it to happen outside the Great Crater. With her research keeping her busy, she neglected to take care of Arven, mostly leaving him with his Mabosstiff. Over the course of their research, Sada and her team develop a time machine using the Terastal crystals which brings back Pokémon from the distant past. The first such Pokémon was Koraidon. The other species brought back were detailed in the Scarlet Book.

During the game, Professor Sada will regular call the player about Koraidon with updates about regaining abilities after consuming the Herba Mystica. She also warns the player that a specimen has escaped the Great Crater which turns out to be the Titan Pokémon rampaging in the Asado Desert. Upon collecting the fifth Herba Mystica, Professor Sada asks Arven to unlock her lab in the lighthouse for the player. When the player enters the lab, a video call reveals that Professor Sada is currently stuck in the deepest part of Area Zero. After Arven recruits Penny and Nemona, the quartet delve into Area Zero with directions from Sada. The player reactivate the Research Stations and delves deeper, discovering that the fourth one is heavily damage. It still reactivates but, when Sada calls, she seems bizarrely to loop in apology. When the player finally unlocks the final station, they discover that the professor talking them for the entire game had been an AI built on her memories. The real Professor Sada had died some time prior protecting the player's Koraidon from the other aggressive Koraidon they revived.

The AI Sada has fallen into disrepair in the time since but, still takes the player into the Time Machine's chamber. The AI asks the player to help deactivate the time machine as she has realized it will endanger the world if kept around. However, upon initiating the shutdown procedure, the security system activates, taking control of the AI and forcing her to fight using Pokémon from the time machine. The player must defeat her but, upon defeating her, she locks all Pokéball not assigned to her and summons the other Koraidon. The player then sends out their own Koraidon as it is still registered to Sada and defeats the other Koraidon. After finally disabling the security system, the AI Sada decides to send herself into the past.
