Professor Kukui(JP) is a character in Pokémon Sun and Moon. He is the resident Pokémon Professor of the Alola region.

Professor Kukui is very passionate about his work, to the extent that he is willing to let himself be hit by a Pokémon's moves to learn more about them.

Pokémon Sun and Moon[]
Professor Kukui is a Pokémon Professor who lives in the player character's new hometown in the Alola region. Pokémon moves are his area of expertise. Lillie works for him as an assistant, although it's for personal reasons.
Pokémon anime[]
Professor Kukui made his debut in the first episode of the Pokémon Sun and Moon anime, "Alola to New Adventure!" Ash lived with him while he attended the Pokémon School in the Alola region.
