Professor Elm(JP) is the resident Pokémon Professor of New Bark Town in the Johto region. Saying so himself, Professor Elm studies unusual Pokémon abilities. He also specializes in Pokémon breeding, and is credited with the discovery of Pokémon eggs. According to Professor Oak, in HeartGold and SoulSilver, Professor Elm "is the best when it comes to the research of Pokémon evolution."
