Primal Reversion is a concept introduced in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. It is similar to Mega Evolution, except that the Pokémon goes back into its ancient, original form, where it regains the true, ultimate power it formerly had. The only known Pokémon that are able to do this are Kyogre and Groudon. Primal Reversion is represented with the symbol α (Alpha) for Kyogre () and the symbol Ω (Omega) for Groudon (). The keys to Primal Reversion are the Blue and Red Orbs, both used by their respective counterparts.
As of the Eighth Pokémon generation, Primal Reversion was removed in the games.
