Portgas D. Ace, also known as "Fire Fist" Ace, is one of the playable allies from the One Piece game series. He was the 2nd division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates and the adopted elder brother of Monkey D. Luffy and Sabo. He was later revealed to be the son of the late King of the Pirates Gol D. Roger, named Gol D. Ace, and took the Portgas surname after his mother, Portgas D. Rouge, after the death of his father.
Hunted by the World Government for his lineage, Ace was captured and sentenced to death, which resulted in the Battle of Marineford in an all out clash of powers. Eventually, after being saved from execution, he shields Luffy from Akainu's magma attack at the cost of his own life. He is buried on an unnamed island in the New World alongside his captain, Whitebeard.
Having eaten the Logia-type Flame-Flame Fruit, Ace is capable of manipulating, creating, and transforming into fire. Ace is also capable of using the Conqueror's Haki.
When one of his subordinates, Marshall D. Teach, killed another crew member, Ace swore to hunt him down only to lose track of him and was eventually handed to the World Government after losing to Teach in a duel. Ace was sentenced to death which resulted in the Marineford War, an event that took the lives of both Ace and Whitebeard.
- In the edited English adaptation, his names are changed to Portgaz D. Trace and "Heat Fist" Trace.
