Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel is the third and final Pokémon the Series: XY movie and the nineteenth Pokémon movie overall. It was released in Japan on July 16, 2016 and premiered in the United States on December 5, 2016 on Disney XD alongside the first two episodes of Pokémon the Series: Sun and Moon. The movie also serves as the last movie to set in the mainline anime since the following film was set in an alternate continuity.
Plot[]
Ash and his friends encounter Volcanion after a blast of steam from the sky, and Ash becomes bonded to it by an unknown force. Volcanion, who hates humans, is forced to bring Ash along as it heads to the Azoth Kingdom. Volcanion is in pursuit of Magearna, hoping to rescue it from a corrupt minister who has stolen it with the intent of using Magearna's mysterious power to conquer the kingdom of machinery. Ash and Volcanion are forced to work together to rescue Magearna.
